美國隊亞當 台灣之子發光

預賽擊敗台灣的日本王牌菊田擴和，昨對美國先發2.1局失3分吞敗投，與隊友痛哭，賽後露出笑臉，「教練說還有季軍賽，要調整心情，繼續加油。」

胖胖蘋果臉是菊田的招牌，他是隊上開心果兼大胃王，因比賽認識許多義大利和台灣的好友，台灣隊長邱志恆還在他7月23日生日那天送上蛋糕，2人透過翻譯小聊。提到首度來台印象，他說：「空氣很臭、很多機車、很多美女。」

中繼2局無失分拿下勝投的美國隊亞當（Adam Crampton），父母是台南人，出生後由美國夫婦領養，此事被報導引發關注後，從此拒訪，教練團也不希望他受打擾。教頭大衛說：「他總能扮演帶頭角色，只要表現好，大家就會跟著好。」
